How it works
- Subscribe to PhantomALERT and get an access/membership pin number.
- Report and verify enforcement and safety locations. For every location you report and other drivers verify/vote as accurate and useful, you get points.
- Vote on other drivers' reports. Just as other drivers rate/vote on your reportings. Every time other drivers find your contribution valuable you get points. If your reporting is bogus and other drivers give it a negative vote you lose points.
- You also get points every time you verify other drivers reportings or correct an error.
- In the end, the most valuable driver, MVP, who reported and verified the most useful locations wins the top prize -BMW Z4. Runner ups win $10,000, $1,000, $500 in cash, GARMIN GPS, Android SmartPhones and other goodies.
Over 25,000 verified locations. Whether you are driving in familiar
settings or driving from LA to NYC, PhantomALERT will alert you to all known speed
trap areas. We all know of roads where the speed limit drops from 55 down to 25 mph
in a blink of an eye or the four lane highways where the speed limit is so
ridiculously low that it is an obvious speed trap. With PhantomALERT, you will be
notified of all those areas.
Fixed and Mobile. 6000+ enforcement locations. PhantomALERT
constantly update the database as soon as new traps are set up. Speed cameras are
usually deployed in areas where the speed limit drops perceptibly near school zones or
construction zones and the ticket costs are outrageous. You will receive advance
warning allowing you enough time to slow down and adjust to the legal speed limit so
you don't trigger the cameras.
You will receive alerts to over 6000 red light cameras located in 485
cities and growing as every month more and more cities are adding them to generate
huge revenue. Studies have shown intersections that have red light cameras see
drastic increases in rear end collisions. By knowing which intersections have red
light cameras you won't be surprised. With PhantomALERT, you will be forewarned and
avoid accidents and citations.
No one should drink and drive. PhantomALERT in cooperation with our users
and law enforcement will alert you in advance of all known DUI check points and crack
downs. We hope this will deter drivers from drinking and driving. When you get that
alert saying "Possible DUI Check Point Ahead" through
your GPS or SmartPhone, think twice before you drink and drive.
We all know how important it is to slow down in a school zone!
Speeding in a school zone area can be as costly as $500 and 3 points in some
jurisdictions. In addition, the speed limit in school zones can be as low as 15mph
which is easily exceeded. PhantomALERT will notify you every time you approach such
areas especially when children are present.
Every year thousands of accidents happen on railroad crossings.
PhantomAlert has mapped all such crossings for the entire US and Canada alerting you
to all known deadly crossing where you need to keep your eyes out for fast moving
trains and stalled vehicles.
PhantomALERT MVP Contest Offical Rules
- You must be a resident of the USA or Canada.
- You must be willing to appear in person at PhantomALERT headquarters to collect high value prices like cars. (That's in Washington DC)
- You must have a valid driver's license indicating that you are over the age of 18, and are legal to drive away in your car!
- You must be willing to appear in promotional marketing media for PhantomALERT. (That means we take your picture and video).
- All POIs reported and points earned will be audited and must follow POI reporting rules. See below.
- ONLY one winner per prize per household.
- Only one car, $10000 or $5000 prize winner per year or 365 days.
WHO MAY PLAY
No Purchase Required. Must be 18 or over on the date of entry. Photo ID required. Contest open to legal US and Canadian residents except employees of PhantomALERT Inc. and their partially and fully owned subsidiaries and participating sponsor(s) and the immediate families of those employees and affiliates their partially and fully owned subsidiaries and participating sponsor(s) and the immediate families of those employees. The term "immediate family members" includes spouses, parents, grandparents, siblings, children, and grandchildren. One winner per person per household. No purchase necessary to enter or win. A purchase will improve your chances of winning. All federal, local and municipal laws and regulations apply. Void where prohibited. By participating, you agree to these Sponsor's Official Promotion Rules and to the decisions of the judges which are final and binding in all respects.
CONDITIONS OF WINNING
Official rules are available at the PhantomALERT Inc. 1204 Florida Ave NE Washington DC 20002, from 8:30 am-5:30pm, Monday through Friday. By entering the contest, contestants give permission for their name, photo, likeness and/or voice to be used for promotional purposes without compensation. Winners must sign promotional release form as condition of receiving prize. Grand Prize car winner is responsible for tag, title, insurances and all taxes for the designated Classic Car. Winner is not eligible to win a contest on PhantomALERT for 190 days.
PhantomALERT will not be responsible for loss of points earned by contestant's failure to obey contest rules, loss of database, server crashes, hacking or due to malfunction of any network or system congestion, overload, busy signals or any other factor that may prevent an individual from completing his/her reporting or verification of POIs. In the event of an interruption of power or telephone service, web service or sercurity breach and database coruption accepting the winning user, the reporting period affected by the interruption may or may not be replayed at the resumption of service at PhantomALERTs sole discretion. The use of automatic POI reporting or rating programs, scripts or other software, computer or networks of users is prohibited and will result in disqualification.
CONSTRUCTION
The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any such provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable, these rules shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or unenforceable provision was not contained therein.
SPONSOR
The PhantomALERT MVP, most valued participant, contest is sponsored by PhantomALERT Inc. and its affiliates. The decisions of PhantomALERT Inc. regarding the selection of winners, the interpretation of these Official Rules and all other aspects of The PhantomALERT MVP Contest shall be final and binding in all respects. PhantomALERT Inc. will not be responsible for typographical, printing or other inadvertent errors in these Official Rules or in other materials relating to The PhantomALERT MVP Contest.
METHOD OF ENTRY/PRIZES OFFERED
Beginning January 28, 2011 and lasting until August 25, 2013, PhantomALERT will give away one car, one $10,000 , one $5000 prize per year to qualified contest participants who have earned enough points and are first to claim prizes while supplies last.
Winners may waive their right to receive prizes. Prizes are non-assignable and non-transferable. No substitutions allowed by winner. Prizes and individual components of prize packages are subject to availability and sponsor reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value. PhantomALERT serves the right to amend any of the rules at any time during the contest without notice.
PRIZE(S) / ODDS: The PhantomALERT MVP contest winners will vary depending how many people play or register for each contest. Earned point must be redeemed within 365 days for prizes. Points not used to claim prizes within 365 days are expired. UNCLAIMED PRIZES WILL NOT BE AWARDED.

Beginning January 28, 2011 and lasting thru August 25, 2013.
Winner's Taxes
Prize winner(s) is/are solely responsible for any and all local, state and federal taxes on the grand prize for The Classic Contest.
PRIZE - Grand Prize is a BMW Z4, $10,000 or $5000 in cash.
Maximum one winner per year and all accessories included within; prize is "as is," no warrantees or other maintenance will be provided. Winner does not have the option to select an alternate prize.
